Presented in three iterations, this project began with investigating images and tropes from fairy tale narratives to reconfigure them toward a non-narrative form. Evoking fraught symbolism and the tensions of forced intimacy, the work uses distance and proximity, extremes of tempo, tonal shifts, and dramatic changes of perspective to present the audience with a sense of mystery and discovery. This work was developed with the support of a Djerassi Artists Residency and presented by the City of Chicago.
