This year-long solo investigation began with Y, which developed unique movement idiosyncrasies for a cast of characters cohabiting a semi-fictional alter-ego. Set in what had been Chicago’s largest macaroni factory, Whence took the audience on a journey through a dusty 15,000 square foot warehouse in an exploration of awkwardness, confession, and fear. The series finished at The Other Dance Festival as Whither, with the journey restructured as a collection of snapshots.
“Gutsy, uncompromising.”

“A lean, clean artistry by means of the performance equivalent of a movie blockbuster… but as intimate as human relations can be.”
Chicago Tribune
“Meyer specializes in brave, intelligent, self-challenging and audience-challenging work.”
