BIO
Gina Hoch-Stall is a creator, mover, dramaturg, and advocate for transforming the dance field through performance, pedagogy, and collective action. From the early days as the Artistic Director of RealLivePeople in Philadelphia to her more recent collaborative projects, Gina continues to create permeable choreographic environments where spectators can engage with, influence, and co-create dance alongside the performers. Her work has been performed up and down the East Coast and across Europe. She has received support from DCASE, Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts, The Puffin Foundation, The Fels Foundation, The Ohio State University, as well as residencies through White Pines Productions and the Philadelphia Dance Academy. Over her six years creating with RealLivePeople and three more facilitating from afar while pursuing her MFA in dance at The Ohio State University on a Dean’s Distinguished Fellowship, Gina accumulated an array of resources for involving community members in the company’s process and live performances. She has honed her approach to teaching through years of applied exploration in university gyms, outdoor festivals, pristine conservatories, and column-ridden studios across the country and, currently, as a Lecturer at Loyola University Chicago and The Joffrey Ballet Academy. Gina performs for Khecari and is currently gestating a choreographic project.
